How It Works

The Pomodoro Technique is a time management method developed by Francesco Cirillo. It breaks work into focused intervals (traditionally 25 minutes) separated by short breaks.

1 Cycle = 4 Focus Sessions + 3 Short Breaks + 1 Long Break

How to use it:

  1. Choose a task to work on
  2. Start the timer and focus until it rings (25 min)
  3. Take a short break (5 min)
  4. After 4 pomodoros, take a long break (15 min)

Key Concepts

Why It Works

  • Creates urgency through time constraints
  • Regular breaks prevent mental fatigue
  • Tracking sessions builds awareness of time use
  • Reduces the impact of interruptions

Best Practices

  • Plan tasks before starting a session
  • Avoid distractions during focus periods
  • Use breaks to rest, not to check messages
  • Adjust durations to suit your work style
